This is one of seven titles in a comprehensive history of France, originally published in the 1880's. The 'large paper' edition of this series (only 250 numbered copies) displays the design on front and back covers and is over an inch taller than the regular edition. At least one other version by Sacker of this series also exists. Although the cover is unsigned, a contemporary article indicates Sacker did the design (see below).
