The American Sailor, by Elbridge S. Brooks

This title also exists in blue with red lettering and a plainer green version (see below). Although unsigned, it is very "Sacker-esque": the treatment of the waves and clouds in the side panels in fact mirrors that of her cover On Fighting Decks in 1812, a cover done the same year. This title is a "companion" to Brooks' The American Soldier, which is signed. An earlier Lothrop edition is seen at the bottom of the page.
