This is the first example I have found of the title-page design, first seen in Fredric Pangborn's The Silent Maid and often re-used. being used in another context, as a frame for a photograph.  In Toronto, the Canadian publisher Copp, Clark Co. used the same design, to the point of keeping the Page crest (see below).
