cAPTAIN fRACASSE SPINE                               Captain Fracasse                             monogram monogram

Captain Fracasse, by Théophile Gautier  (2 volumes)

           L. C. Page and Co.,  1897/John MacQueen, 1901

This title also exists in green with gilt design [see below].  The design of the (sunned) spine resembles that of several Alcott titles, but with a different flower. These volumes were also available in dust jackets and a slipcase. The DJ spines repeat the cover spine design. Liam Armstrong, of "World of Rare Books" in England, has recently informed me that this title was also published in England, by John MacQueen. My thanks to him!
